Total Access Urgent Care is proud to announce that their Webster Groves/Rock Hill location is now offering two new blood lab panels with their new Piccolo Blood Chemistry Analyzer system. They now offer Chemistry 13 and Liver Panel Plus, both of which only take approximately 12 minutes to run.
What can these panels help diagnose?
The Liver Panel Plus is a diagnostic test used to assess the health of the liver and pancreas. Any patient who comes to Total Access Urgent Care with abdominal complaints will likely have this panel run as well as the Chemistry 8 basic panel. The test includes the following assays:
- Alkaline phosphate
- Total bilirubin
- Total protein
The Chemistry 13 panel is presently the only way to assess Uric Acid levels. This test is only used when a Uric Acid is needed, such as in cases of gout or tumor lysis syndrome. In addition to the above tests, this testing panel also includes the following tests:
- Uric Acid
Both of these tests can be helpful for diagnosing liver disease, kidney disease, pancreatitis, jaundice, bone marrow disease, nutritional and metabolic disorders, intestinal diseases, and hepatitis.
